A gentle goodbye for a pet deeply loved.
Losing a pet is often like losing a family member. Many families are heartbroken. In the middle of that grief, making decisions about their care can feel overwhelming.
When the time comes,
families need peace - not pressure
Most pet owners aren’t prepared to make aftercare decisions while grieving. Traditional cremation can feel too harsh, confusing, or impersonal - yet many families don’t realize a gentler option exists.
You shouldn’t have to rush a decision or wonder if your pet was treated with care.
You're not alone in this
At Bluegrass Pet Aquamation, we understand how deeply pets are loved - because we’re pet owners too. Our role is to walk you through this moment with compassion, clarity, and respect.
Every pet is cared for with dignity and returned to their family with the same thoughtfulness they received in life.

How it works
Step 1 - we connect
Reach out to us directly or have your veterinarian contact us. We'll explain everything calmly and answer any questions you have.
Step 2 - gentle care
Your pet is cared for through aquamation (a water-based process) using one of two options - private or communal - depending on what feels right for your family. Both are handled with dignity, respect and the same level of care thoughout the process.
Step 3 - final arrangements
If you choose private aquamation, your pet's remains are retunred to you in the manner you select. For families who choose communal aquamation, remains are not returned.
Aquamation is a gentle alternative to flame cremation. Instead of fire, we use water, following the same natural cycle that occurs in the earth, in a calm and controlled setting.
What is aquamation?

Benefits
Many families choose aquamation because it is:
A calmer, more gentle, dignified farewell
Environmentally responsible
More natural than fire
Trusted by families & veterinarians
